In the world of Harry Potter as we know it, there are no recorded instances of a person who was sorted into Hufflepuff ever becoming a Death Eater, or any other kind of Dark Wizard for that matter. It’s no wonder, then, that Hufflepuff has produced no shortage of exceptional wizards and witches.
Peter Pettigrew, (a.k.a Wormtail), is the only Death Eater known to have been in a House other than Slytherin (Gryffindor) while at Hogwarts. There, he was a close friend of Sirius Black, James Potter, and Remus Lupin, although he was the least intelligent and least talented of the group.
Nearly all of those recruited were from Slytherin House. However there may have been recruits from Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and even from foreign schools within the ranks as well. He would later rename the group “the Death Eaters”.
Eater Antonin DolohovLupin, played in the films by David Thewlis, was murdered in the battle by Death Eater Antonin Dolohov, while Tonks was killed by Bellatrix Lestrange, leaving their son, Teddy, an orphan. Lupin’s death is a sore spot for many fans, who fell in love with the werewolf, nicknamed Moony.
Cedric’s death is a major plot point in the stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child where Harry and Ginny Weasley’s son Albus uses a Time-Turner and prevents Cedric’s death. Due to his humiliation in the Triwizard Tournament, Cedric eventually becomes a Death Eater and kills Neville Longbottom.
Early in life, Scamander developed an interest in magical creatures, influenced by his mother’s breeding of hippogriffs. He attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he was sorted into Hufflepuff House.
A professor who teaches about magical creatures is often considered a Magizoologist. That means Hagrid is in this profession.
Really, if Hagrid had been the son of world renowned Magizoologist Newt Scamander, don’t you think we would’ve known about it by now? No, on many reasons. Newt married Tina and had a child with her, not a giant and also, Hagrid’s last name is, well Hagrid, so no, Newt isn’t Hagrid’s dad.
They were both above the British legal age of consent. However, there would have been precious few opportunities for them to consummate any passion (if it existed) as they were tied to school, homework, Quiddich practice and the few weekend day trips allowed into Hogsmeade.
A dragonologist was a Magizoologist who specialised in the study of dragons. Dragonologists were often employed in magical wildlife reserves, such as dragon reserves, like the Romanian Dragon Sanctuary.
Newton Artemis Fido “Newt” Scamander, O.M. (Second Class), (b. 24 February, 1897) was an English wizard, famed Magizoologist and the author of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Early in life, Scamander developed an interest in magical creatures, influenced by his mother’s breeding of hippogriffs.
He Was Expelled From Hogwarts In the first Fantastic Beasts film, we hear that he was thrown out for endangering human life with a beast. J.K. Rowling has hinted that he took the blame for something someone else did, presumably the troubled Leta Lestrange and her experiments.
Yep, that happened: Bellatrix and Voldemort had sex sometime around Order of the Phoenix or Half-Blood Prince, and their wild night in bed led to a child named Delphi Diggory/Riddle/Lestrange. According to Delphi herself, she was born sometime before the Battle of Hogwarts.
And being the magical school Hogwarts is, it must have some means to catch such students (ghosts, portraits etc.). And Cedric being a prefect, doesn’t seem to be much of a rule breaker. Cedric was 17 and Cho was 15 at that time so they might have not been in a particular hurry!
