If you’re wondering, are junior shoe sizes the same as adults? To put it simply, a junior shoe size 5 is the same as an adult size 5. Generally speaking, infant sizes go from 1 to 13, and junior sizes start again from 1 and continue up to 5 and beyond. These junior sizes are the same as adult women sizes.

Dating back to the end of the 13th century, junior has always meant someone younger, or more particularly, “the younger of two.” Defined in relations to their more learned upperclassmen, early on, juniors were called “Junior Soph,” and seniors were denoted with “Sophester”.
At one point, freshmen were first year students, sophomores were second year students, underclassmen referred to freshmen and sophomores, juniors were third year students, seniors were fourth year students, and upperclassmen referred to juniors and seniors.
Junior clothing is labelled in odd-number sizes, ranging from size 1 to 15. Because hips and other areas widen as the body matures through the teen years, junior sizes are generally narrower in the hip than women’s sizes but wider than girls’ sizes, and designed for a slimmer teen, rather than a curvy body.
5 years oldMost kids start kindergarten at 5 years old, although they may begin as early as 4 or as late as 7. Whether they’re eligible to start generally requires turning 5 years old before a specific date — usually in August or September. It’s likely your state offers kindergarten, but not all states require children to attend.
