He’s intelligent and getting smarter. Either he’s got Rick’s genius in his genes and it’s coming out as the show progresses, or Rick is just rubbing off on him, but yes he is.

To add to the “I’m smart because I watch Rick and Morty” syndrome, is the fact that Rick and Morty is quite an intelligent show, sometimes. Not insanely intelligent, mind you, and certainly not scientifically accurate, but intelligent in the sense that the plot moves quickly, and doesn’t talk down to the audience.

So when the perfect couple met and started having adventures together, Rick started growing even smarter. turning from a super genius scientist in seaon one to basically a god in season three. So this kinda explains why Rick goes smarter and smarter as the series progress.

Rick and morty is one of the most philosophical series that i have ever come across. The show’s creators are able to cram so much deep philosophical ideas in just one episode at times, most recently is the 7th episode of the third season.
