- What is Walmart’s bereavement policy?
There are multiple ways to be a family due to the policy. It can include married or adopted kids and people who live together in a domestic partnership or a civil marriage. It also covers an employee’s spouses, parents/siblings/children, and grandparents or grandkids.
Immediate family includes siblings, parents, spouses, children, parents-in-law, grandchildren, grandparents, children-in-law, and siblings-in-law. Employees who require time off to attend a funeral for an immediate family member, or to make arrangements, are eligible for 7 unpaid days of bereavement leave.
Walmart’s bereavement policy allows employees to take up to three days off work if somebody in their immediate family passes away. Supervisors may also grant bereavement leave due to the death of other relatives or loved ones. In addition, employees will still be paid for this time off.
