doeThe Patronus of Harry’s mother, Lily Evans, took the form of a doe. Lily is never seen casting a Patronus in the “Harry Potter” books or films, but Rowling has noted her ability to produce a corporeal doe Patronus on multiple occasions.
The reason Severus Snape has the same patronus as Lily’s is because he was deeply in love with her and the grief and guilt he felt after her death may have cause his patronus to change into a doe, or it already was a doe depending on when he first cast the spell.
By his 7th year Lily fall in love WITH HIM, James already love her way before that, his feelings never changed, but Lily’s did, and this might have been the reason her Patronus became a Doe.
A Patronus is said to change for a person to somebody else’s Patronus form when that person dies, if you love them enough. For example, Lily’s Patronus was a doe, yet Snape’s Patronus was a doe too after Lily’s death, meaning he loved her so much that he took that Patronus form in her memory (it changes without will).
James Potter I (27 March, 1960–31 October, 1981), also known as Prongs, was an English pure-blood wizard and the only son of Fleamont and Euphemia Potter.
Luna Lovegood is a Pureblood witch, who was sorted into Gryffindor House during Harry Potter’s second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry.
