How does Ppto work at Walmart?
You earn PTO with every hour you work. And the more years you work for Walmart, the faster you earn it. The amount you earn also depends on whether you’re full-time or part-time. Most associates earn both kinds of PTO at the same time, but temporary associates earn protected PTO only.

PPTO- Protected Paid Time Off, you use this to cover unapproved absences and tardies so you don’t get points against you. PTO- Paid Time Off, you use this for like vacations, approved absences and tardies.
How much Ppto does Walmart use?
You are only allowed 4.5 occurrences in a six month period. If you reach 5 occurrences, you will be automatically terminated from the company. Remember, Walmart doesn’t coach or write up employees based on attendance. It is your responsibility to keep up with how many occurrences you have.

How do I use my Ppto?
Log onto the Wire, go to GTA Portal, Time Off Request, select day, reason Sick, minutes/hours you want covered, submit. If you have the available ppto the system will automatically approve it. Your People Lead in personnel can also help you.
