Calling out is 1 point. Calling out on key dates (typically right before, during, and after major holidays) is 2 points. You’re allowed 5 in a six month period. After 6 months to the day from an occurrence, that occurrence disappears.
If you’ve been with Walmart for 6 months or longer, you’re allowed 8 1/2 occurrences. Once you reach 4 and you’re less than 6 months, you’re terminated. Once you reach 9 and you’ve equal to or more than 6 months, you’re terminated.
Tell or email your boss that a family member passed away. For instance, you can say something like: “I just wanted to reach out and let you know that my uncle recently passed away, and I’ll need 3-5 days off to be with my family and attend the funeral.”
A no-call/no-show is 4 points so according to policy, you would be fired if you have 1 of those even if you don’t have anything else. If you’ve been with company for more than 6 months, you can get 8.5 points over a 6 month period and still keep your job.
Whether Walmart will rehire terminated employees depends on the terms of which you exited the company. However, you will need to wait 90 days to re-apply, either to your previous Walmart store or a new one.
Of course any manager can fire you at Walmart as long as your not a manager at their level or above them. Even a team lead can fire you if you are under them.
