Zizek is not taken seriously by analytic philosophers but is read and adored by the cultural studies crowd and postmodernists. Being trained as an analytic philosopher, I am inclined to think he offers some amusing and occasionally insightful prose, but I don’t consider it to be philosophy exactly.
