We were shocked and honored to find out that The League was voted to the top in BusinessWeek’s “Best Of The Web” poll in the Humor category. We have to thank everyone who voted and supported the show over the last few months. The success of this show is beyond any of our expectations, and we promise plenty of League goodness in the pipeline as we get to work on Season 2.

CONTRACT KILLERS HIT WILMINGTON ON APRIL FOOLS DAY

Wilmington, DE, March 1, 2008 - What are you doing on April 1st, 2008? Care to spend it with some real April Fools?
The long awaited locally-produced internet series, The League, will launch its very first episode on www.theleaguetv.com. But you don’t have to sit at home and watch it on your teeny, tiny computer screen. You can join the entire cast and crew at “The Theater N” in Wilmington, DE at 8:00pm on April 1st.
There is no cover charge to get in, which means it is absolutely FREE!
The evening will kick off at 8:00pm at the Theater N. Previous shorts by The League producers Joel Rickenbach and Kevin Regan will jump start the event. Shorts included will be: Damsel in Distress, The Wave and Forgetting Something. The evening will be capped off with the very first episode of The League–EVER! The episode is called “Pickle Tosser.”
Come hang out with series producers Kevin Regan, Joel Rickenbach, and Jim Burns, and featured actors Gordon Holmes, George Stulak, Jim McCabe and many more!
The screening will run until approximately 9:00pm. We will then gather at a yet to be determined “watering hole,” where you can come buy the cast and crew some much needed libations.
Again the screening is 100% free! Donations will be welcomed, and highly encouraged.

Philadelphia, PA, April 1, 2008 - The World Wide Web continues to revolutionize the entertainment industry with the first episode of the new web TV series The League, in which two roommates with conflicting personalities experience their day-to-day lives as friends, roommates, and coworkers. It just so happens that Gary and Todd work exclusively as contract killers. This smartly scripted comedy’s premiere episode, called “Pickle Tosser,” shows Todd encountering The League’s target in the toilet paper aisle of the local supermarket.

Set in Anywhere, USA, The League is a scripted comedy series produced by Penaltyboxx Productions, under the direction of Kevin Regan and Joel Rickenbach. Their comedic collaborations (The Wave, Damsel in Distress) have been featured at the Phoenixville Film Festival in Pennsylvania over the past three years.
The series stars Jim Burns and Gordon Holmes. Burns, a NYC-stage veteran, plays Gary. Holmes, an independent filmmaker and part-time journalist, adds his talents as Todd.
